Conexus Indiana names One Southern Indiana’s Jack Harrison to Rising 30 Class of 2026

From Left to Right: Lance Allison, President & CEO of 1si; Jack Harrison, Economic Development Specialist & MMA Liaison; John Launius, Chief Economic Development Officer

New Albany (May 11, 2026)- One Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development’s (1si) Economic Development Specialist and MMA Liaison, Jack Harrison, has been named to Conexus Indiana’s Rising 30 Class of 2026 for his work in advanced manufacturing and logistics.

Presented by Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM), the Rising 30 program spotlights Hoosiers 30 years old and younger whose early-career contributions demonstrate the depth of talent driving Indiana’s largest industry sector forward. Each honoree was nominated by an employer or industry representative and selected based on professional accomplishments and demonstrated impact.

While Jack Harrison’s work with the economic development organization One Southern Indiana puts him in contact with a wide range of businesses in an effort to bring more jobs to southern Indiana, his greatest impact might be on the region’s manufacturing sector. Assuming leadership of the regional organization’s Metro Manufacturing Alliance two years ago, Jack breathed new life into the group of 80 manufacturers by reprogramming its content, creating sold-out trainings on topics from exporting and foreign trade zones to lean manufacturing and sparking renewed interest in the Women in Manufacturing group. With a bachelor’s from Centre College and an MPA from Georgia State University, Jack seeks long-term impact as a community leader.

“In two years leading the Metro Manufacturing Alliance, Jack has meaningfully strengthened how our region’s manufacturers connect and grow,” Says SVP and Chief Economic Development Officer, John Launius, at 1si. “He shows up, takes ownership, and is constantly thinking of new ways to support local manufacturing across our region. His recognition is a reflection of the measurable impact on our manufacturing sector.”

The 2026 cohort reflects the true breadth of Indiana’s AML sector. Honorees hold roles spanning quality engineering and controls, supply chain and logistics, finance and business development, materials science and R&D, operations leadership and IT and systems infrastructure. The honorees work for organizations of every size and type—from global automotive manufacturers and life sciences companies to homegrown startups and regional economic development organizations—and they are based in communities across the state. Nine Indiana colleges and universities are represented among this year’s honorees, a reflection of the depth of the state’s talent pipeline.

“Young talent is one of Indiana’s greatest competitive advantages in advanced manufacturing and logistics,” said Jay Wirts, President and CEO of Conexus Indiana. “What makes this class so exciting is what they reflect about the industries themselves. They’re high-tech, sophisticated and constantly evolving. These 30 individuals aren’t waiting to shape the future of Indiana manufacturing. They’re already doing it.”

AML is the backbone of Indiana’s economy, accounting for more than a third of the state’s GDP and employing hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers. Recognizing and developing young talent in the sector through the Rising 30 program is one way Conexus helps to keep that foundation strong.

In the year ahead, Rising 30 honorees will engage with Conexus Indiana’s programming as thought leaders, lending their perspectives on technology adoption, workforce development and the future of Indiana’s manufacturing and logistics industries.

To view bios of each honoree, visit www.conexusindiana.com/rising-30. Nominations will open for the 2027 class in November.

For Immediate Release: Global Polymers to Relocate and Expand Operations in Charlestown, Indiana

CHARLESTOWN, Ind. (Feb. 2, 2026) — Global Polymers LLC, a Kentucky‑based, industry leader in recycled Polypropylene resins, announced plans to relocate and expand its operations to Charlestown, Indiana. Backed by strong support from the City of Charlestown and regional partners, the company will reactivate an existing facility at 100 Quality Court, strengthening its manufacturing footprint and positioning the business for continued growth.

The expansion will strengthen Global Polymers’ recycling and manufacturing capabilities and reinforce its commitment to customers. The company also operates Global Freight LLC, a for-hire transportation business supporting its logistics operations.

“This relocation and expansion mark an important milestone for Global Polymers,” said Barry McRoberts, Founder and Managing Member of Global Polymers LLC. “As demand for our products continues to grow, this investment will enhance our ability to serve customers through expanded capabilities and new product offerings. We appreciate the support of the City of Charlestown, One Southern Indiana, and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, whose partnership has been critical to advancing this next phase of growth.”

The company plans to create up to 30 new jobs by 2030 at the Charlestown location, with an average hourly wage of $31.17—well above the current Clark County average wage. Global Polymers also plans to invest more than $8.5 million in the facility through new machinery and equipment, building improvements, special tooling, and other capital expenditures.

“We are excited that Global Polymers has chosen Charlestown for this significant investment,” said Mayor Treva Hodges. “The revitalization of this facility reinforces the strength of our workforce, quality of our community, and highlights our commitment to fostering smart growth and high-quality job opportunities in our community.”

Based on the company’s job creation plans, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation committed an investment in Global Polymers of up to $290,000 in the form of incentive-based tax credits. These incentives are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim state benefits once jobs are created.

“Indiana’s pro-growth business climate and robust small business ecosystem are attracting quality investments that will further support our economy and residents,” said Governor Mike Braun. “We are proud to welcome Global Polymers to our state and to our southern Indiana community, where the company will have the skilled talent needed to grow.”

“Global Polymers’ decision to stay in the region and grow in southern Indiana demonstrates their confidence in both Charlestown and our regional advantage,” said Lance Allison, President and CEO of One Southern Indiana. “Southern Indiana continues to be a premier hub for advanced manufacturing and logistics, and we’re proud to support this expansion and the quality jobs and products it will create.”

In addition to state support, Global Polymers has received local support through an estimated tax abatement savings of $65,000 over five years from the City of Charlestown on qualifying personal property.  This allows the company to phase in its new taxes over time as operations expand.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Awards One Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development with 4-Star Accreditation

New Albany, IN — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded One Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development (1si) the prestigious Accreditation designation in recognition of its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and significant positive impact on the community it serves.

“Achieving the Accreditation designation is a significant accomplishment that underscores the chamber’s steadfast dedication to its community and its commitment to organizational excellence,” said Raymond P. Towle, U.S. Chamber Vice President, Federation Relations and IOM. “This prestigious recognition places the chamber among the top in the industry, showcasing its exceptional leadership, meaningful contributions, and critical role in driving growth, innovation, and opportunity within the business community.”

The U.S. Chamber’s Accreditation Program sets the standard for excellence in the chamber industry, fostering a pro-business environment across the nation. This comprehensive self-review process typically takes 6-9 months to complete and reflects a chamber’s dedication to continuous improvement and measurable progress.

Local chambers are rated as Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars, while state chambers are recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members and chamber CEOs from across the country.

This designation underscores 1si’s commitment to excellence and its role as a vital resource for the business community, fostering growth, innovation, and opportunity for its members and the region it serves.
