First Merchants Bank CEO Mark Hardwick was recently named to IBJ Media’s Indiana 250.
Each year, IBJ Media’s Indiana 250 recognizes the most influential leaders across the state in business, government, education, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, arts and entertainment, and more. Hardwick was recognized in the financial & business services category.
Hardwick joined First Merchants Corp. in November 1997 as corporate controller and worked his way up from chief financial officer (2002); leadership responsibilities related to operations, technology and risk management for the corporation (2007); chief operating officer (2016); and, finally, CEO (2021).
First Merchants has been headquartered in Indiana for more than 130 years and serves the Midwest across communities in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. First Merchants serves the Southern Indiana community businesses and residents, as well as expanding its investment through a new Floyds Knobs branch.
