Decker is the Only Attorney Honored from Kentucky
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2026)—Managing Intellectual Property (Managing IP) magazine recently selected Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorney Mandy Wilson Decker to the 2026 edition of Managing IP’s “Top 250 Women in IP.” This is the 12th time Decker has been honored on this list, and she is the only attorney honored from Kentucky.
The “Top 250 Women in IP” list recognizes the leading women IP lawyers from more than 50 jurisdictions across the world. Nominees are selected from the global research conducted for Managing IP’s annual “IP Stars” list, which includes extensive client and peer interviews. The highest ranking women attorneys from that list make up the “Top 250 Women in IP.”
Decker is a Member (Partner) of Stites & Harbison based in Louisville. She also serves as Co-chair of the firm’s Artificial Intelligence Committee. She is a Registered Patent Attorney. Her practice focuses on intellectual property protection strategy, including counseling clients on infringement, validity and patentability, transfer of intellectual property, patent drafting and patent prosecution. Contributing to her practice is a scientific background in chemistry and experience with academic and commercial research in the areas of biochemistry, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences. Decker is regularly called upon to speak across the country on patent prosecution, intellectual property strategy, life sciences technologies, and emerging issues at the intersection of intellectual property, artificial intelligence and legal practice.
Outside of the firm, Decker is active in a variety of professional and community organizations. She is Chair of Kentucky Intellectual Property Alliance’s Board of Advisors and past Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section. She is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Association of University Technology Managers, the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section and the American Health Law Association. Additionally, Decker is a member of Legal Aid Society’s Justice for All Campaign Committee.
