Our Committees and Councils
There are a number of advisory boards, groups, committees and councils that allow members to engage more deeply in their areas of interest or expertise, help move the organization forward and make new connections. Some of these are open to all members, while others are limited in size and are by invitation.
Ambassador Program
The friendly faces you see welcoming you at our 5 O’clock Networks, ribbon cuttings, and other networking events are the Ambassadors. These members serve as trusted champions who welcome new members, build meaningful connections, and help ensure businesses are plugged into the resources they need to succeed. Meetings occur the first Thursday of every month.
Business Resource Council
The Business Resource Council leads 1si’s efforts and develops programs and resources for businesses seeking to go to the next level. This council provides strategy, guidance and ideas for our tiered service offerings, gives us feedback on seminars, events and branding opportunities for business, and ultimately ensures 1si provides the right services to help companies to succeed.
Economic Development Council
Investors provide strategic direction to 1si’s progressive economic development activities, including but not limited to: new business attraction; business retention and expansion; transportation; redevelopment; quality of life; and recruitment of talent. Available to CHAMPION AND LEAD INVESTORS only.
Advocacy Advisory Board
Members of this board are responsible for anticipating, defining and performing research on policies, issues, proposed legislation, trends, etc., that may influence the Southern Indiana business community and setting an agenda so 1si can focus on the issues that matter most. Available to ADVOCACY INVESTORS AND ABOVE only.
“Networking on the Green” Golf Scramble Committee
This committee coordinates one of the largest golf tournaments in region. 1si’s scramble offers a great vehicle to connect to the who’s who as well as promote, volunteer at and attend the event.
Young Professionals of One Southern Indiana (YP1si) Committee
This committee’s mission is to help identify opportunities for younger professionals, typically 35 years of age and younger. This committee oversees the Mentoring Program and helps staff plan yearly event/workshops.
Commercial Connections Committee
Committee members assist staff in coordinator this bi-monthly event. They also promote, volunteer at and attend the events.
Sales & Marketing Committee
Committee members assists staff in coordinating this quarterly event. They also promote, volunteer at and attend the events.
Pearls of Wisdom Committee
Committee members assist staff with securing speakers, work to engage professional women in discussions and helps plan logistics. They also promote, volunteer at and attend the events.
