One Southern Indiana connects non-profits with business community at popular networking event

March 19, 2008 – One Southern Indiana has added a new concept to its signature 5 O’Clock Network series.  Southern Indiana’s largest after-hours networking event attracts nearly 300 people to various locations throughout the year.  On May 20, the 5 O’Clock Network offers non-profit organizations affordable exhibit space and valuable opportunities to connect with peers and the business community.

As an added benefit, each non-profit in attendance will be enrolled in a drawing for a complimentary, one-year One Southern Indiana membership.

“With so many exceptional non-profits on both sides of the River, we really saw a void in connecting them to the One Southern Indiana business community,” said Kyle Morey, VP Business Services & Strategic Alliances at One Southern Indiana.  “So many businesses are looking for ways to get more involved with charitable organizations - and charitable organizations are looking for the support of the business community.  We think this new Expo is the perfect fit.”

Non-profit organizations (501(c)) may exhibit for $149, which includes a covered display table.  Chamber membership is not required.  Exhibitors will gain exclusive exposure to business leaders and connect with a host of potential sponsors, donors, and volunteers while networking with peers.  Each participating organization will be listed on One Southern Indiana’s website and will receive a complete list of attendees following the event.

The Non-Profit Meets Profit Expo takes place on May 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Newlin Hall (4-H Fairgrounds) at 2818 Green Valley Road in New Albany.

Gold sponsorships are also available for businesses interested in a presence at the event.
