5.20.08 "Congratulations on your successful event!" writes Rachel Loy, Development and Outreach Coordinator for Reclaim Our Culture, Kentuckiana (ROCK) and exhibitor at 1SI's Non Profit EXPO event.  "We found that it was very helpful for us, and look forward to doing it again next year."

One Southern Indiana added a new concept to its signature 5 O’Clock Network series.  Southern Indiana’s largest after-hours networking event attracted nearly 300 from the business community to its May series – and area non-profit organizations were the main event.  Download Exhibitor List

Hosted in an informal setting with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres, the event provided a chance for area professionals to meet representatives from non-profit organizations while learning more about volunteering, board opportunities, and potential partnerships.

“With so many exceptional non-profits on both sides of the River, we saw a void in connecting them to the area’s business community,” said Kyle Morey, VP Sales & Strategic Alliances at One Southern Indiana.  “So many professionals are looking for ways to get more involved with charitable organizations – and those charities are seeking active involvement from the business community.  We think this new Expo was the perfect fit.”

Door prizes were drawn through out the event including a one year membership with One Southern Indiana won by The Center for Women and Families.

The Non-Profit Meets Profit Expo took place on May 20 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Newlin Hall (New Albany Fairgrounds) at 2818 Green Valley Road in New Albany. One Southern Indiana plans to offer more programs this year and next to help advertise the missions of local non profits. For more information, please contact Kyle Morey at kylem@1si.org
