By Kyle Morey

“This event was awesome!” says Diane Fischer, President and CEO of L&D Mail Masters and Champion Sponsor of the Network of Champions. “It has been a while since a networking program has made me get up and dance!”

“I loved it!” states a new chamber member Kristen Noland, Corporate Education Liaison for the University of Phoenix. “Well organized and fun!”

Corky Beatty, a VP with Fifth Third Bank says “I walked away with some good contacts of owners & decision makers. Loved the enthusiasm in the room. Can’t wait for the next event!”

By 7:15 am, the room at 300 Spring in downtown Jeffersonville swarms with businesses as they are greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic handshake from one of 20 trained Champion Connectors. “Good morning and welcome to the Network of Champions,” says Fancy Fulton with RE/MAX, a trained Champion Connector. “What is your business? Who would you like to meet today?” She then personally introduces the guest to several others in the room including the two silver sponsors Payment Alliance & Regions Bank/Morgan Keegan.

Breakfast is served but the crowd is intent on making connections before the program begins. Finally, a last call for breakfast – specially prepared by Schnitzelbank Catering – is announced at 7:55 am and attendees find their seats.

Huey Lewis & The News’ rendition of “Taking Care of Business” fills the hall as the announcer invites the VP of Membership & Strategic Alliances Kyle Morey to the microphone. Sponsors are invited with cued music intros. Many in the crowd, including the CEO of One Southern Indiana Michael Dalby, dance. Network of Champions Chairperson, Lin Schussler Williams with Warren Technology, prepares the audience with tips on presenting and the 30 second commercials begin. Stories are told. Testimonials are given. Visual presentations are displayed. Anecdotes are shared.

140 businesses later, door prizes were drawn and networking recommenced. Handshakes continue. Connections are made. Bottom-lines grow.

Thus ends the first installment of the Network of Champions: the 30 Second Briefing. Do you hear the call of the Champions? Join us at our next event – The RoundTable – on Thursday, February 14, 7:30am at 300 Spring. Click Here
