Education Statistics

The Southern Indiana/Louisville region’s colleges, universities, community colleges, business schools and technical schools enroll over 52,000 students and offer a wide range of continuing educational opportunities.

Indiana and Kentucky have a tuition reciprocity agreement that allows residents in Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, and Scott Counties in Indiana and Bullitt, Jefferson, and Oldham Counties in Kentucky to enroll at certain state-supported colleges in the other state and pay in-state tuition rates.

In addition, Kentuckiana Metroversity, the region's unique cooperative system, allows students from one institution to take up to six hours of credit per semester from another participating institution without paying additional tuition fees.

Indiana has the 12th best business climate in the U.S. and is the most highly rated in the Midwest, according to the Tax Foundation, 2006.
