Developing "The Best" Elevator Speech - July 22nd from 1 - 3
Presented by: Amy Romines of Shihan Kyu Training Systems
Are your sales interviews fishing trips or hunting expeditions? The difference is simple - are you hoping the prospect bites the bait or do you truly have a strategy to identify the best targets and move them through the sales interview successfully?
The key - an effective, qualifying first conversation. Done properly, the "wrong" prospects will disqualify themselves. Done properly, the right prospects will ask for your help. Qualified prospects mean good hunting - hopeful prospects make for fishing trips and often return empty handed. Skilled qualification starts with your commercial - the message you can deliver anywhere anytime, even in a brief encounter on an elevator.
Does your "Elevator Speech" or commercial work? How do you know? Does your commercial turn heads and get people to ask - "Really, how do you do that?" If not, it might just be "lumping" you in with your competitors? Whether it's formal networking, social networking, direct contact, or just the unexpected perfect opportunity on an elevator - do you have it and can you deliver it? The bottom line: if you didn't have it when you got on the elevator, you're not going to come up with it during the trip.
Career Pathing in a Recessionary Economy - July 23 from 1 - 3 p.m.
Presented by: Linda Lindsay of HR Concepts
Either You Manage The Top Talent Of Your Organization Or A Competitor Will! Despite some encouraging signs, in today’s unstable economy strengthening your relationships with your employees is critical to your organizations economic health. Many organizations are facing the recession by either cutting jobs, or, at the very least, not hiring additional workers. Still economic recession does not have to mean “Career-Vision” recession. Much like a garden, your employee’s career development must be nurtured during times of economic drought. Career-pathing opportunities boost morale, help retain valuable employees, and match organizational needs with your best internal candidates. Owners, Management and HR need to encourage professional development for employees to assist current employees in developing skills and abilities needed for career development opportunities within your organization.
Faced with a challenging economy, some organizations may be tempted to shift their focus away from activities related to fostering employee advancement and career development.
Employees have become more and more aware that they are responsible for managing their own careers and that their futures depend on continuous elevation of their skills. If employees are not increasing their skills at your organization, they risk compromising their employability — within their current organization or at your competitors! If your organization is not responding to these needs, you are risking increased turnover when the economy improves and employment alternatives are more readily available.
With careful planning, even the most flat organization can be engineered into a productive, nurturing environment where management not only provides a career path but also provides a progressive training plan to develop the skills for success and employee retention.
Attend this valuable seminar to see how your organization can retain your top talent and create a Career-Pathing Strategy for your organization!
